Christmas on Hope Street

Ho ho ho! Christmas is coming to Hope Street!

Blackburne House, Liverpool

26th November 2011 11am - 5pm

The Christmas on Hope Street Fair was a great success and has really got us in the festive mood– which means Christmas must be almost upon us! And what a fantastic event it was, even better than last year if we may say so: a fun-filled Christmas cracker of a day with lots to do for all the family!

The Arts, Crafts & Vintage Fair spread across the whole ground floor of Blackburne House, offering wonderfully unique presents and treats for Christmas shoppers and collectors alike.

Also on the ground floor in the Conservatory, Craft Creative held some fantastic workshops, showing the little ‘uns how to make their own Christmas decorations or pudding bonbon presents.

The health & wellbeing zone was rammed to the rafters all day with people who took the opportunity to relax between bouts of shopping with a massage. Alternatively, visitors queued to participate in the aromatherapy workshops.

Meanwhile, the car park area with its rows of quaint stalls attracted the hungry with top-quality food from the Hope Street quarter and further afield. Visitors made full use of the seating area in front of the performance marquee, eating hog roast and drinking mulled wine while enjoying the entertainment on stage.

The Together Pop Choir, Liverpool Community Choir, Contemporary Urban Choir and the Port Sunlight Lyceum Brass Band managed to create fantastic atmosphere. They were supported by the Dismembered Empire (also known as the Steam Punks) and Shiverpool, who provided entertainment on- and offstage all day.

Undisputedly, some of the best moments of the day were provided by the Movember Contest (the only family-friendly Movember event in all of Liverpool). Male and female contesters of all ages showed off their (real or fake) facial hair: raising cash for men’s health has never been that much fun!

A huge thanks goes to our wonderful traders (and there were so many of you!) and to Blackburne House for hosting the event. Hope to see you all next year!
